Biography

Ajay was born in Punjab to Veena and Veeru Devgan. Originally from Mumbai, India,  members of the The Mukherjee-Samarth Devagn family are all related to the Hindi film industry in Mumbai. His father, Veeru Devgan, is a well-known stunt choreographer and his mother Veena Devgan, a film producer. Ajay's brother, Anil Devgan, is a Hindi film director. Ajay Devgan is an alumnus of the Silver Beach High School in Juhu and Mithibai College.
Kajol began dating fellow actor, Ajay Devgn, in 1994, while filming for Gundaraj.  Members of the media, however, labelled them as an "unlikely pair" due to their contrasting personalities.  Devgn explained their relationship by saying, "We never resorted to the usual 'I Love you' routine. A proposal never happened. We grew with each other. Marriage was never discussed, but it was always imminent".

On 24 February 1999, they were married in a traditional Maharashtrian style ceremony at the Devgn house. The couple has two children. Their daughter Nysa was born on 20 April 2003  and their son Yug was born on 13 September 2010.  Ajay Devgn and Kajol chose to store their newborn son's umbilical cord blood and tissues, which act as a stemcell source and help protect the child from several serious ailments.  In August 2009, Devgn's surname was changed to its current spelling from its more well-known "Devgan", at the request of his family.  He became the first Bollywood personality to acquire a private jet for transport to shooting locations, promotions and personal trips.  He is the first Indian to own a Maserati Quattroporte.

Fauja Singh

                                                                        Profile
"I won't stop running until I die. The next target, God willing, is to be the oldest marathon runner ever."

Born                            :-   1 April 1911 (age 101) Beas Pind, Jalandhar Punjab, British India
Residence                :-   United Kingdom
Occupation               :-   Marathon runner
Years active              :-   2000 – 2013

Fauja Singh  is a world record holder in his age bracket. His current personal best time for the London Marathon (2003) is 6 hours 2 minutes, and his marathon record, for age 90-plus, is 5 hours 40 minutes at the age of 92, at the 2003 Toronto Waterfront Marathon.

In 2004, Singh was featured in an advertising campaign for sportswear manufacturer Adidas alongside David Beckham and Muhammad Ali.

Singh holds UK records for the 200 m, 400 m, 800 m, mile and 3000 m for his age group, records all set within a single 94 minute period. At the age of 100 (and a half), Singh attempted and accomplished eight world age group records in one day, at the special Ontario Masters Association Fauja Singh Invitational Meet, held atBirchmount Stadium in Toronto, Ontario Canada. Timed by officials in Canada,  He ran the 100 metres in 23.14, 200 metres in 52.23, the 400 metres in 2:13.48, the 800 metres in 5:32.18, the 1500 metres in 11:27.81, the mile in 11:53.45, the 3000 metres in 24:52.47 and the 5000 metres in 49:57.39, setting five world records for his age group in one day. Each time bested the previous record in that age division (some events had no previous record holder, as nobody over age 100 had ever attempted the distance). Some of his marks are significantly superior to the listed world record in the M95 age group as well.
Three days later, on 16 October 2011, Singh became the first 100-year-old to finish a marathon, completing theToronto Waterfront Marathon in 8:11:06.  As it took him over 14 minutes after the gun to cross the starting line, the official time submitted for the age group record will be 8:25:17. However, Guinness World Records refused to include Singh in its record book due to the fact that he could not produce his birth certificate to prove his age. Birth records were not kept in India in 1911,  however it is claimed that records written in Urdu date back to 23 February 1879.  He was able to produce a passport listing his date of birth as 1 April 1911, and a letter from Queen Elizabeth II congratulating him on his 100th birthday.
In October 2011, Singh, a vegetarian, became the oldest man to be featured in a PETA campaign.[20] In July 2012, Fauja Singh carried the Olympic torch.[21]
Singh had stated that he would retire from competitive running after taking part in the Hong Kong marathon on 24 February 2013 (just 5 weeks shy of his 102nd birthday).[2] He successfully completed the 10 kilometre run at the Hong Kong marathon in 1 hour 32 minutes and 28 seconds,  and fully intends to continue running for pleasure, health and charity.

Ajit Wadekar

Ajit  Wadekar  Born on April 01, 1941 at Bombay (now Mumbai), Maharashtra
He is Left Handed Batsman and Left-arm medium, Slow left-arm orthodox bowler
Major teams             :-     India, Mumbai
TEST debut            :-    v West Indies, Dec 13, 1966, Brabourne Stadium
Last TEST             :-     v England, Jul 04, 1974, Edgbaston
ODI debut              :-    v England, Jul 13, 1974, Headingley
Last ODI               :-    v England, Jul 15, 1974, Kennington Oval

Wadekar's father wished him to study Mathematics so that he could become an engineer, but Wadekar instead preferred to play cricket. He made his first-class debut for Mumbai in 1958–59, before making his international debut in Test in December 1966, against the West Indies at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. After that he became a part of the regular team, and went on to play 37 Test matches for India between 1966 and 1974, generally batting at number three.

An aggressive left-hand batsman who became slightly bogged down by responsibility, Ajit Wadekar's name will forever be linked with 1971 when he led the Indian team to historic triumphs in the West Indies and England. Wadekar made his first-class debut in 1958-59 but had to wait eight years before playing for India in 1966-67, despite a string of big scores around the domestic circuit. But he took little time to establish himself in the Indian team and was a tower of strength to the Indian batting for seven years, playing scintillating or valuable knocks depending upon the state of the game. He was one of the best No. 3 batsmen in the history of Indian cricket and one of the finest slip fielders.
Vijay Merchant's casting vote as chairman of the selection committee ended MAK Pataudi's long reign as Indian captain and handed over the leadership to Wadekar in January 1971. He proved himself to be a capable captain, if not a shrewd tactician, and a combination of circumstances, and a fair share of good fortune, led to India beating West Indies and then England. A third successive series triumph over England, this time at home, followed in 1972-73 and Wadekar was at his peak as batsman and captain when he led India to England in 1974. What followed was anti climax. All three Tests were lost by margins that brooked no argument in what went down as the inglorious `Summer of 42'. Made a scapegoat, Wadekar was forced to retire, although a reluctance to spend time away from his young family would probably have led to him standing down whatever the outcome of the tour. Almost three decades later he renewed his association with Indian cricket as a successful manager of victorious Indian teams, striking a particularly good working relationship with Mohammad Azharuddin.
In 2007, Wadekar joined the ICL where he served as a match referee, but was released from his contract with the unofficial league and was granted amnesty by the BCCI in 2009.

She has participated in three Women's World Chess Championships: in 2006 in Ekaterinburg, she advanced to the second round; in 2008 in Nalchik she made it to the fifth round, before bowing out, effectively coming equal third in the competition, and then she played the best-of-ten Hou-Koneru Women's World Championship (2011), losing by 2.5-5.5 (+0 =5 -3).
